The main methods and operations of condenser cleaning

The condenser is easy to form scale in the pipeline after long-term use, if not disposed of in time, these scales will affect the heat exchange effect, resulting in an increase in the condensing temperature of the unit, which in turn leads to a decrease in cooling capacity and an increase in the energy consumption of the unit, so the condenser should be removed frequently.

There are roughly three ways to prevent and remove limescale:  

First, mechanical descaling

: Mechanical descaling is a method of descaling the condenser of steel cooling pipe with a flexible shaft tube washer, especially suitable for vertical shell and tube condensers.

  Operation method: 1. Extract the refrigerant from the condenser. 2. Close all valves connected between the condenser and the refrigeration system. 3. The cooling water of the condenser is supplied normally. 4. Use the bevel-shaped gear-shaped scraper connected by the flexible shaft pipe washer to rotate and scrape and descale from top to bottom in the riser of the condenser, and cool the heat generated by the friction between the scraper and the pipe wall with the help of circulating cooling water, and at the same time flush the removed scale, rust and other dirt into the pool. In the descaling process, according to the scale thickness of the condenser and the degree of rust of the pipe wall and the length of service life, the appropriate diameter of the hob is selected, but the diameter of the hob selected for the first descaling should be appropriately smaller than the inner diameter of the cooling pipe to prevent damage to the pipe wall, and then select a hob close to the inner diameter of the cooling pipe for the second descaling, these two descaling can remove more than 95% of the scale and rust of the condenser.

This mechanical descaling method is to use the rotation and vibration of the bevel-shaped gear hob in the cooling pipe rotation and feeding process to remove the scale and rust in the cooling pipe of the condenser, and after the end of descaling, all the water in the condensate pool is pumped off, and the scale, rust and other dirt removed from the bottom of the pool are cleaned up, and the water is refilled. 


Second, chemical pickling and descaling method

: Clean the condenser with the prepared weak acid descaler to make the scale fall off and improve the heat transfer efficiency of the condenser.

The operation method is: 1. Prepare the descaling solution in the pickling tank, start the pickling pump, so that the descaling agent solution circulates in the condenser for 24 hours, and under normal circumstances, the scale is basically removed after 24 hours. 2. After stopping the pickling pump, use a round steel brush to pull the brush back and forth in the condenser tube wall, and rinse the scale and rust with clean water. 3. Repeatedly wash the descaler solution remaining in the museum with clean water until it is completely clean. The method of chemical pickling and descaling is suitable for vertical and horizontal shell-and-tube condensers.  

Third, electronic magnetic water descaling method:

The working principle of the electronic magnet is to dissolve the calcium, magnesium and other salts flowing through the cooling water of the condenser in the state of positive and negative ions in the water at room temperature.

When the cooling water passes through the transverse magnetic field of the magnet at a certain speed, the dissolved calcium and magnesium ions obtain induced electric energy, so that their charge state changes, and the electrostatic attraction between the ions is disturbed and destroyed, which changes the conditions for its crystallization, so that the structure of the crystal is loose, the tensile and compressive resistance is reduced, and the hard scale with strong adhesion cannot be formed, and the loose sludge is discharged with the flow of cooling water. This descaling method can not only effectively prevent the generation of new scale, but also remove the original scale, because after the use of the electronic magnet, the ions lose their scaling ability, which loses the protective effect on the original scale. In addition, the magnetized cooling water has a certain amount of induction energy, and at the same time, due to the different expansion coefficients of the steel pipe and scale in the condenser, the original scale gradually cracks, and the magnetized water invades its cracks uninterruptedly, destroying the adhesion of the original scale, so that it gradually loosens and falls off by itself and is constantly taken away by the circulating cooling water.
